About Anika
A horse in motion, not just on paper.
Anika is one of two horses on the property who is not a pure Friesian. She is the product of an experiment we ran in the mid-2010s — a Friesian × Pure-Spanish-Bred cross, intended to combine the elevation of the Friesian with the sensitivity of the Andalusian. She has been Marieke's personal driving mare for nine years: light to the hand, clean to the rein-back, content in single harness, schooling Second Level dressage under saddle. With the closure she is being placed alongside the studbook horses. The family is hoping for a home that will keep her driving.
